Retro Rewind: Reliving the Magic of the 2026 Great Lakes Doll Meet

A Journey Back in Time at the Great Lakes Doll Meet

The 2026 Great Lakes Doll Meet brought collectors together for a lively day at the Holiday Inn & Suites Toledo Southwest - Perrysburg. From the moment attendees arrived, the event had the kind of welcoming energy that makes this hobby so memorable. Friends reconnected, new collectors joined the conversation, and every corner of the room offered something worth stopping to see.

There was plenty happening throughout the day:

  • A busy vendor room filled with unique finds
  • Photo Ops for your dolls
  • Hands-on classes for collectors sharpening their skills
  • A raffle that kept excitement high
  • Plenty of snacks to keep everyone going between shopping, classes, and conversation

For Chef Gina’s®, this event was a perfect fit. The meet brought together collectors who appreciate realism, scale accuracy, and the kind of handmade quality that stands apart from mass-produced pieces. It was a great setting to share 1/4 scale miniatures, and meet collectors searching for detailed 1/6 scale accessories that bring their scenes to life.

Highlights from the Retro Rewind Showcases

One of the most exciting parts of the event was seeing how collectors embraced the showcase area. People set up incredible doll displays on their table filled with personality, nostalgia, and technical skill. Some scenes leaned heavily into retro fashion and color palettes, table settings, and storytelling. The variety made the showcase area a destination all on its own.

The event also featured the crowd-favorite Mini Me contest, which was a huge hit. Collectors matched their dolls in creative ways, turning the contest into one of the most talked-about moments of the meet. It highlighted the playful side of the hobby while also showing just how much thought collectors put into styling, coordination, and presentation.

Other memorable highlights included:

  • Showcase tables loaded with doll displays
  • Collectors sharing techniques, inspiration, and display ideas
  • Classes that helped attendees build skills
  • A raffle that added a fun layer of anticipation throughout the day

The energy stayed strong from start to finish, helped along by the steady flow of snacks, conversation, and discoveries around every table.

Closer to the end there was cake, which was a nice surprise for a long filled day.
